Alan Goldberger is an attorney and sports official. He serves as counsel to national, state, and local officiating and sports organizations and insurance carriers in the sports industry.
He is a member of the New Jersey, New York, and Maryland Bars.
He officiated basketball, football, and baseball for more than 30 years. Goldberger is a regular contributor to athletic and legal publications, including Referee Magazine and the National Federation Officials Quarterly.
He is Chair of the Sports Law Special Litigation Group of the Defense Research Institute, the American Bar Association Nonprofit Athletic and Recreation Associations Subcommittee, and the NAGWS Committee on Legal Issues.
Mr. Goldberger has been a featured speaker at numerous national and regional conferences, and has taught sports law and business organization law on the college level. He is also the author of Sports Officiating: A Legal Guide, now in its second edition.
