Brett Wright - Author
Professor Wright has been engaged in the field of recreation, parks and conservation for almost 40 years. He began his career at George Mason University where he served as Department Chair for eight years. In 2002, he joined Clemson University’s faculty as Chair of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management. After 12 years as department chair, he was appointed the inaugural dean of the College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences, a position he held until 2018.
He has also held numerous leadership positions in professional organizations, including president of the Wildlife Society of Virginia, president of the National Society for Park Resources, and director of Tigers United University Consortium. In 2008, in recognition of his lifetime of achievements, Professor Wright was elected a fellow in the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration.
