Damon Andrew - Author
Dr. Damon Andrew serves as Dean and Professor of the College of Health and Human Services at Troy University.
He earned an associate’s degree from Jefferson Davis Community College, a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of South Alabama, two additional master’s degrees in Biomechanics and Sport Management from the University of Florida, and a Ph.D. in Sport Administration from Florida State University.
In addition, he recently completed a post-graduate certificate in higher education administration from Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Institute for Management and Leadership in Education.
To date, Dr. Andrew’s scholarly productivity has included a research methods textbook, 26 funded grants and contracts, 114 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, proceedings, and book chapters, and 76 presentations at national and international conferences.
He is the Editor of both the Sport Management Education Journal and the Journal of Applied Sport Management, as well as the Associate Editor of the International Journal of Sport Management and Marketing, and he serves on six other editorial boards.
Dr. Andrew directed University of Louisville’s doctoral program in Sport Administration from 2004-2006 and founded and directed a doctoral program in Sport Management at the University of Tennessee before assuming the decanal role at Troy University.
He has been named a distinguished alumnus of both the University of South Alabama and the University of Florida, and his administrative efforts have been recognized nationally through two awards: the 2011 American Association of University Administrators Emerging Leader Award and the 2012 National Association for Kinesiology in Higher Education Distinguished Administrator Award.
