Kathleen G. Scholl - Author
Kathleen G. Scholl is a faculty member and chair of the Leisure, Youth, and Human Service Division within the School of Health, Physical Education, and Leisure Services.
She teaches courses in outdoor recreation management, environmental education, research and evaluation, and social psychology of leisure. In addition to Scholl's interest in outdoor recreation planning and programming, she is also a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
She is committed to the provision of recreation opportunities for all individuals. Scholl provides her expertise in inclusive recreation services to community agencies in order that they may increase their capacity to provide recreation services to individuals with disabilities.
Her research interests include inclusive recreation, accessibility, family leisure, outdoor leadership and communication effectiveness, and outdoor recreation and sustainable community development. Scholl currently sits on three agency boards: Friends of Hartman Reserve, Iowa Conservation Education Coalition, and Together We Play.
