Luke E. Kelly - Author

Luke E. Kelly is the Virgil S. Ward professor of education at the University of Virginia, where he is the director of Kinesiology and Adapted Physical Education.

He has 34 years of experience teaching adapted physical education, training teachers, and working with public schools on evaluating and revising their curricula to accommodate the needs of ALL students in physical education.

He has written and presented extensively in the areas of adapted physical education and applying the achievement-based curriculum model including 10 books on these topics.

He has served as president of the National Consortium for Physical Education and Recreation for Individuals With Disabilities, chair of the AAHPERD Adapted Physical Activity Council, and was project director of a U.S.D.E. grant that developed the Adapted Physical Education National Standards and national certification examination.
