Roger Warren - Author

Roger Warren is professor emeritus in the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management in the College of Natural Resources at North Carolina State University, where he served as a faculty member for over 30 years, including 9 years as department head.

He earned his doctorate from Indiana University, his MS from West Virginia University, and his BS from Wake Forest University. His park and recreation career includes serving as recreation director, assistant general manager, and general manager of Tanglewood Park in Clemons, North Face.

His professional service experience includes serving as the director of the Revenue Sources Management School at Oglebay Park, board of directors of the Society of Park and Recreation Educators, board of directors of the Eckerd Wilderness Educational System, chair of the board of directors for Camp Laurel Ridge, Advisory Committee for Umstead State Park, and national secretary for Rho Phi Lambda honorary fraternity.

Warren is one of 25 educators invited to be a member in the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration. He is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management at North Carolina State University and is a member of the North Carolina Recreation and Park Association Hall of Fame. He has authored nearly 40 publications and has made numerous professional presentations.
