Samuel A. Brown - Author

Samuel A. Brown is the director of the Orthopaedic Technology Program at Southern Crescent Technical College in Griffin, Georgia.

Brown obtained his bachelor of science from The University of Alabama in 1995 and his master of science from Mississippi State University in 2001.

He has been a certified member of the National Association of Orthopaedic Technologist (NAOT) for over 15 years.

Prior to his NAOT certification, he was a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).

In 1998, he completed his fellowship in athletic training at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado.

After his fellowship, he worked at Emory Sports Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, where he served as lead orthopaedic technician, head athletic trainer, and founding director of the Emory Sports Medicine Athletic Training Fellowship.

Next, he worked at Atlanta Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, a private clinic that served as team physicians for Atlanta’s NFL and NHL professional teams.

Currently he serves on the board of directors, chairman of Educational Textbook Committee, and Georgia State Delegate for the National Association of Orthopaedic Technologist, as well as president of the Georgia Association of Orthopaedic Technologists.

Combined, Brown has over 27 years of experience in the practice of orthopaedics and sports medicine.
