Sherri Hildebrand - Author

Sherri Hildebrand is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and an instructional assistant professor at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, where she teaches courses in Therapeutic Recreation and Recreation Management.

Hildebrand has been an educator in higher education since 1983 at several institutions in the state of Illinois and Iowa. In 2010, she cofounded and served as the program director for a nonprofit organization, SportAbility of Iowa, to serve the recreation and leisure needs of people with physical disabilities throughout eastern Iowa.

In 2105, with the assistance of her therapeutic recreation students and Campus Recreation, she started Adaptapalooza, an annual adaptive sports event for the ISU community to advocate for sports participation for people with physical disabilities.
