Tonya L. Sawyer is the NCAA compliance coordinator in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Indiana State University. Sawyer has served as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport, as well as Athletic Academics. Sawyer has given over 10 presentations at professional conferences and authored 18 articles found in professional journals concentrating on sport management.
Sawyer received a bachelor of science in elementary education from Saint Mary-of-the Woods College, master of science in recreation and sport management (2009) with a concentration in sport management from Indiana State University, and a PhD in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in sport management from Indiana State University.
She is an active community member, volunteering with the local American Red Cross and United Way. Further, she was awarded the Young Professional Award by the Indiana Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.
